First Attempt: For the Love of Haiku...
It started with a comment...then came the suggestion...
This is my first attempt for a haiku not to mention in Japanese Calligraphy. Thanks to the Midnight Writer and Sir Ben I found another interest to study (and I hope there will be a follow-up with this one) -- and a good tattoo design I wish to have (but take note in Henna since I can't imagine myself growing old with ink on my skin hehe). Comments and suggestions are welcome and are very much appreciated. I do hope I did good here (although this is not the traditional one). But in case there are indeed some correction then I'll gladly revise this one (and once I get to figure out how to write it in traditional jap calligraphy)...hehe...

i've read about haiku but never really learn it's structure, so i really cannot give a constructive comment...
ReplyDeletedoes cat really has nine lives?
honestly I think a cat doesn't have nine lives (pero ginamit ko dito sa post hahaha)...
DeleteIt was a superstitious belief originating from cats surviving a fall -- and the usual way they land too...
back in grade school, we had to create lots of haikus for my english subject. i never knew how i managed to pass, considering i'm not poetic :))

we're all poetic in our own way (we just have our different tones) ;) so don't be surprised if you passed :))
DeleteI'm not good in math yet I managed to pass my course. ;)
I am planning also before but then I saw an old woman that have tattoo on back shoulder then I realize that its not pleasant to look at, I am not gonna stay young so better think twice hehe
ReplyDeleteI agree..it's not pleasant but there are those who like the idea...well I guess for us po let's just stick to the henna at least we know how it feels like being inked (without regretting it) ;)
DeleteHi Jen, all i know about Haiku is that it should compose of 3 lines and 17 syllables and of course it must have a thought Sample Haiku I Wrote
ReplyDeletethank you Sir Francis! I'll make one this weekend and share it as soon as I'm done :)
Delete17 syllables, that's right. The Psalmist got it correctly. it's 5 syllables on the first line, 7 on the second line and 5 again on the 3rd line. i'm dabbling in haiku too. but yours is very interesting with the japanese calligraphy thrown in.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ms. Hazel...someone suggested i put some jap calligraphy on it after I commented these lines on a friend's poem.
DeleteThank you so much for the help too. I'll share my work this weekend after I'm done with it :) Hopefully next time I publish it it will have baybayin instead of jap calligraphy :)
