Learn the Art of Letting Go and Making Room for Something Wonderful

Let go of yourself....

I just got done sorting out my clothes and throwing away old class notes to lessen clutter. Although I also did this last December of 2010, I have to admit that it was only recently that I fully embraced and appreciated the art of “letting-go”. Good bye old clothes and shoes. Farewell collegiate notes. And soon I’ll be saying “so long” my beloved books. At present, as I write this blog, I am already done planning the shopping I’ll be doing this December – getting me a good pair of dressy shoes.
I may be working at home but I do go out too.

And although I am fully aware that here in Sorsogon it’s enough to wear t-shirt, jeans and flip-flops, when going out, I refuse to be part of the norm.

Things have changed…

I am no longer the girl who once wore t-shirt and jeans with ink stains, nor the student with her school blouse sleeves rolled up to her elbows. “I am” no longer a girl in the first place…

I am presently a woman… And right now I am eyeing on some stores where I can get a good pair of shoes. The perfect shoes that will complete a get-up that speaks simplicity, sophistication, and independence…description of a woman I always wanted to be and now deciding to live it.

I’m saying “good bye” to the girl I was before and “hello” to the new and better me.

Because the art of letting go isn’t just about getting rid of things; it is also welcoming great things.

Never settle for anything less that what you truly deserve. If you want greatness to happen into your life you have to learn how to let go of things that seem to hinder it. These are things that cause you to procrastinate and drift off. Instead focus more on those that motivates you to go beyond your limits such as your love ones.

There are so many possibilities out there waiting to be grabbed.
All you have to do is free your hands of the not so useful things.
Decide to take a chance on the “possibility”
that lies beyond your limits.

We never know what the future holds but we can have the life we want by living it right now. Call it “getting used to it”. Of course you don’t have to do it overnight but you can start by cleaning up our act:

Remove all the clutter inside your head to help you focus on the path towards your goals.

Pass-on great memories to friends both old and new for they contain the lessons you have learned.

And dress for success…

Many may think this as an impractical move but what make it “impractical” is you wanting results fast without even preparing yourself for it. You have to do things “consistently”: practice, learn, relearn, unlearn until you have found the right system (way of handling things) that works best for you.

Life is so short to be wasted on worries, so let go of it too. This is the fact we all must accept and face. It is only holding you back to expressing your uniqueness to the world. You have to decide to be happy as you should be. And just like the sorting of clothes I did, especially the decision of buying new shoes, you must start sorting out thoughts and actions that will surely bring you nothing but happiness and success. It’s time to let go and make enough space for that “something wonderful” that’s coming.

    1. yup it really is easier said than done...but all it takes is that first step after deciding on something. I have to admit there are times I still find it difficult to go forward due to frustration but it's not as hard as before. I just have to kick that frustration out of my system fast. that's why I usually post positive quotes on my facebook wall...to fight it!

    1. for those with failed relationships they have to see how beautiful they really are. it all starts by loving themselves and believing that they deserve something better because God said so...

Everything will fall into place in God's perfect time! <3

  9. What's "letting go"? I'm confused of what you're saying. If you're talking of growing up, of course, everything changes and you're beginning to adjust and adapt things for grown-up.

  10. Ika nga, Embrace Change. There's nothing permanent naman in this world. Everything's change. People change. What's important is you change for the better. You learned to let go of things which are not important in your life anymore. But... I really don't let go of my books.. hehehe.. maybe that's the only thing I should keep forever.

    1. when it comes to books letting go of these are definitely the hardest...especially the inspirational ones (since I've noticed copies of such books are the hardest to find especially those written during the early 1900's). I;m keeping the inspirational ones since they usually just go around my family and relatives but with my pocket books i found them a good home.... :)
